Sophie Manera

Board Member


Sophie Manera, currently a Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in the NSW Registry, has a background as an immigration lawyer and advocate for victim-survivors of family violence. Her professional journey over the past 10 years includes providing migration education to legal and migration professionals, as well as extensive work within culturally and linguistically diverse communities. She was a regular seminar presenter for the Migration Institute of Australia, often presenting on Partner and other family visas, including the special provisions on family violence.

Sophie was the recipient of the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Award for Mentor of the Year (2019) and has received numerous awards and accolades from the Migration Institute of Australia.
